Tarot Reading Guide

What is Tarot Reading?

Tarot cards originated in 15th-century Northern Italy, initially used as playing cards for nobility. The oldest surviving tarot deck was created for the Visconti family of Milan in the 1440s. In the 18th century, French occultist Antoine Court de Gébelin linked tarot to Egyptian mysticism, initiating the divination tradition. In 1909, Arthur Edward Waite and artist Pamela Colman Smith created the "Rider-Waite-Smith" deck, which became the most widely used version. The full 78-card deck comprises 22 Major Arcana (major life themes) and 56 Minor Arcana (daily affairs). This system uses the classic Celtic Cross spread, analyzing all aspects of your question: past influences, present situation, potential challenges, and possible outcomes.

How to Ask Questions Properly?

  • Ask open-ended questions like "How will this relationship develop?" rather than "Will he come back?"
  • Focus on what you can control, not others' thoughts or actions
  • Concentrate on your question while shuffling
  • ⚠️Enable reversed cards for a more complete reading
  • Avoid yes/no questions; Tarot is better for exploring possibilities than predicting definite answers
