What are Runes?
Runes originated from Germanic peoples in the 1st-2nd century CE, with the earliest inscriptions found in Denmark. The Elder Futhark (24 runes) system formed between 2nd-8th century and is the oldest complete runic alphabet. In Norse mythology, the god Odin hung himself upside-down on Yggdrasil, the World Tree, for 9 days and 9 nights to gain the wisdom of the runes. During the Viking Age (8th-11th century), runes were widely used for inscriptions, magical talismans, and divination. This system offers Odin's Rune (quick guidance) and the Three Norns spread (past-present-future).
How to Divine Properly?
- Focus your mind and silently concentrate on your question
- Note whether runes appear upright or reversed—meanings differ
- In the three-rune spread, follow the past-present-future timeline
- Runes reveal possibilities, not predetermined outcomes
- Do not repeatedly divine for the same question
