Meihua Yishu Guide

What is Meihua Yishu?

Meihua Yishu (Plum Blossom Numerology) was created by the renowned Northern Song dynasty Yi scholar Shao Yong (Shao Kangjie, 1011-1077). Legend says that one day Shao observed plum blossoms falling and heard a crane call, inspiring his realization that 'all things are numbers.' Meihua Yishu broke free from traditional yarrow stalks and coin-tossing methods—time, numbers, sounds, and directions can all be used for divination. The core lies in Ti-Yong analysis: identifying the Five Element relationships between the Body (Ti) and Function (Yong) trigrams, combined with the Mutual hexagram (process) and Changed hexagram (outcome) to predict fortune and misfortune.

How to Divine Properly?

  • Sincerity is key—calm your mind and focus on your question before casting
  • Questions should be specific and clear, avoid being too broad
  • Carefully analyze Ti-Yong relationships, Mutual process, and Changed outcome
  • ⚠️Don't repeatedly cast for the same question—trust the first result
  • Never approach with a testing or playful attitude, or results will be inaccurate
