What is BaZi Astrology?

BaZi (Eight Characters) astrology originated in the Tang Dynasty when Li Xuzhong developed the "Three Pillars" method using year, month, and day. During the Song Dynasty, Xu Ziping perfected it into the "Four Pillars" system by adding the hour pillar—hence BaZi is also called "Ziping Method." Each pillar consists of one Heavenly Stem (Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding...) and one Earthly Branch (Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao...), totaling eight characters. Rooted in Yin-Yang and Five Elements philosophy, BaZi holds that the cosmic energy at birth influences destiny patterns. By analyzing Day Master strength, Ten Gods relationships, Five Elements interactions, and Luck Pillars, one can understand personality traits, life fortune, and career prospects.
